Northern Territory - Australia

The Northern Territory sits in the central and northern area of the continent. It is often regarded as the “true outback”. It is home to many rare and unique Australian species, it has 52 national parks and nature conservation reserves. The most famous of which Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is home to Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is perhaps one of Australia’s most captivating and recognisable natural wonders.
The region is ideal for the traveler who really wants to strike out and explore, and offers vast wide open spaces that can seem almost endless. The skies of the Northern Territory can be some of the best for star gazers, once out away from the light pollution of the modern world travelers can see some of the best constellations visible in the Southern Hemisphere.
Culturally the Northern Territory is synonymous with Aboriginal culture and is probably one of the best areas to learn more about the cultures of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia. The traveler should take the time to see the landscape which has helped form some of the oldest belief systems in the world, and enjoy the storytelling and art which the wider world is only now learning to truly appreciate.
