The shops and attractions of Kajaani city centre are closeby Scandic Kajanus.  

Kajanni attractions are just across the water as the Kainuu Museum.  The locality offers pleasant terrain for cross-country skiing, cycling and walking depending on the time of year.  In the warmer months you can also enjoy a few rounds of golf at the nearest course which is only 3 km away.  

Kaukametsä Congress and Cultural Centre is the neighbouring building to the hotel and it is possible to book conferences and meetings at the centre through the hotel.  The hotels location means its an ideal place to stay if you are attending at conference or meeting at the Kaukametsä Congress and Cultural Centre.

The hotel is an ideal location as it has great road links as it is very close to the 8807 highway, the hotel can accommodate up to 150 business or event delegates within the 6 meeting/conference rooms of the hotel.  If a larger space for a conference the is next door to the Kaukametsä Congress and Cultural Centre.  

If you want to stay in trim while staying at the hotel you can go for a jog in the surrounding parkland, do a few lengths in the pool, or use the fully equipped gym within the hotel.  And once you've completed your exercises you can relax in the sauna.  

For kids there's plenty to keep them occupied, there's plenty of open space around the hotel, inside the hotel itself there are mobile play modules, facilities where they can draw, play computer games, do jigsaws, watch kids TV channels and "Film Time".  The restaurant has high chairs for little kids as well as a kids menu.  Kids stay for free at the hotel (under 13 years of age)

For disabled guests staying at the hotel there are 6 specially modified rooms for the disabled.  These have been designed to ensure a wheel chair user can use them easily.  The rooms also have their own en-suite bathrooms which have also been designed and modified for wheelchair users.  There are 2 car parking spaces for disabled drivers at the hotel.  There is a lowered counter at reception.  Hearing loops are available at reception and mobile hearing loops can be loaned to guests who are attending business meetings within the hotel.  Guide dogs are welcomed at the hotel.  

There are 88 car parking spaces at the hotel which are free of charge.  Most of which have engine heaters for use during the winter months.

The Scandic Hotel Chain take their commitment to the environment very seriously they have been developing their environmental policy since 1993.  The current policy is developing through out the business so that they can hit their target of being entirely carbon neutral by 2025.  

The hotel observes the Scandic environmental policy, which ensures that all waste is categorised into one of 22 possible categories and recycled where possible.  Energy waste is minimised through the use of energy efficient appliances and fittings like low energy light bulbs and room key controlled lighting.  Water wastage is minimised though the use of efficient taps and shower heads and low-flush toilets.  In terms of consumable products, all cleaning products are "eco-friendly", coffee is "fair trade" or is another ethical brand, no GM food is served within the hotel and organic food served wherever possible.

The Kajaani restaurant offers you a seasonal à la carte menu, which offers Mediterranean cuisine like pasta, fresh fish and meat dishes.  All served in a dining area which has great views of the surrounding parkland.  The hotel bar is a great places to relax after a busy day with a beer or a glass of wine.  The house speciality is Tar Schnaps.Room Service is available with a diverse range of options, from light snacks to substantial meals, sweet deserts and drinks from the bar.  A free breakfast is included within the price of your room.  You can choose from organic cereals, fruit and cooked breakfasts.
