Scandic Patria overlooks a green park in central Lappeenranta a short walk away from the waters edge.
The Lappeenranta attractions which surround the hotel, include the "Art Noveau styled" Wolkoff House Museum which is just a minutes walk down the street. The hotel is also 400m from the Lappeenranta Fortress and Lake Saimaa is not far and offers great water-based activities.

back to topThe hotel is perfect location for conferences and business meetings. There are 6 flexible meeting and conference rooms. The largest auditorium can seat up to 80 people. The 2 smallest rooms which are perfectly suited to board meetings.
There is a nice balance for those who want a balance of fitness and relaxation. The gym has views out over Park Pusupuisto and is equipped with two running machines and a multi-gym. Jogging tracks start from just outside the hotel if you want to take in some fresh air. During the winter months you can ski and there is also an ice rink made on the natural ice of Lake Saimaa. You can also borrow walking pole and bikes from the hotel. And once you have finished your exercise you can relax in one of the hotels saunas.
Guests staying at the hotel with their children can rest assured that they will have a fun time during their stay. On arrival at the hotel they will be given a welcome gift, and they can keep themselves busy on the "mobile play modules". They do jigsaws, play computer games, read, watch kids TV channels. There is also "Film-Time", when they can watch kids films. In the restaurant there is a "kids menu" and high chairs. The added joy of staying at Scandic Patria is that children under 13 stay for free.
There are 2 rooms for the disabled. These rooms have been modified for the comfort of wheel chair users, the rooms also have en-suite bathrooms which have also been designed for disabled use. There are 2 parking spaces for disabled drivers, in public places there are automatic doors and ramps where required. Hearing loops are available for guests who require them and guide dogs are welcome.
In total there 66 parking spaces. There are 22 indoor spaces which carry an additional fee, the other 44 outdoor spaces are free of charge.
There is free wireless internet access at the hotel, as well as a shop so you can pick up the odd item without needing to step out.

back to topIn 1993 the Scandic hotel chain (of which hotel xxxx is a part) set up their own environmental policy in advance of many companies, let alone companies in the field of hospitality. The policy has grown to encompass every hotel within the chain and ensures that each hotel and the staff within each hotel follow the detailed elements which constitute the policy.
Staff at the Scandic Patria hotel are all trained in the best environmental practises. All waste is sorted into one of 22 separate catagories, the waste is then recycled wherever it is possible. There is strand of the environmental policy which is solely dedicated towards construction and maintenance. For any building or maintenance work the company awards contracts to companies with a demonstrable commitment to best environmental practises. No toxic materials are used in refurbishment of the hotel and wherever possible materials that can be recycled after use. All cleaning products within the hotel are "eco-friendly". Energy is conserved through the use energy efficient appliances like washing, dishwashing machines and fittings in guest rooms and public areas, which are also installed on the basis of their ability to conserve water. Energy is also conserved using energy efficient appliances again in both in guest rooms and public areas.

To reach the Scandic Patria hotel from Highway 6, follow signs to Lappenranta city centre (‘Keskusta’), and then to the harbour (‘Satama’). These will take you along route 387 (Vaalimaante). Bear right onto Snellmaninkatu, which leads on to Taipalsaarentie. Turn right onto Kaupakkatu, where you’ll see the hotel. The journey from the highway to the hotel normally takes 5-10 minutes.
