The Scandic Rovaniemi Hotel is in the heart of Rovaniemi.

You can unwind in one of the Scandic Rovaniemi hotel’s 2 single-sex Finnish saunas.  In the surrounding area you can book yourself on to a cruise on an icebreaker, travel to meet Santa at the Santa Claus Village or to go on an Arctic Safari. 

Business meetings and conferences are easily accommodated at the hotel.  There are 3 conference venues and 2 boardrooms, the hotel can accommodate up to meeting facilities for up to 110 delegates.   All business rooms are equipped with wireless internet and the latest business meeting technology.

There is a fully equipped gym within the hotel.  If you want to see more of the surrounding area you can borrow a bicycle or walking poles from reception.  In winter you can go enjoy cross-country skiing at Ounasvaara.  Once you have finished speeding up your heart rate, you can relax in a steam sauna or enjoy a traditional Finnish sauna.  Once you have finished your session you can enjoy the views over the Ounasjoki river from the balcony.  

There are always fun things to do if you are bringing your children with you to the hotel.   They can enjoy watching films at "Film Time", they can play computer games, do some drawing or reading and play on the "Play Modules".  The restaurant has a separate "kids menu" as well as high chairs for babies and small children.  The biggest plus to bring your children with you children under 13 years stay for free.  

There are 2 rooms for the disabled at the hotel, they have their own en-suite bathrooms.  These rooms have been specifically modified for wheelchair users.  The bathrooms have emergency alarms, as well as other elements to enable the ease of use of the facilities.   the hotel lifts buttons can be reached from a wheel chair position.  There are 2 parking spaces for disabled drivers.  Hearing loops are provided at reception.  

The hotel has 30 indoor parking spaces and 40 outside spaces.  (All parking carries an additional charge, as does the engine heaters which may be required for cars parked outside during the winter)

There is free wireless internet access through out every part of the hotel.

As one of the hotels within the Scandic hotel chain, the hotel observes one of the most developed environmental policies within any hotel chain within the world.  The Scandic environmental policy impacts on every part of the day to day operation of the hotel.  

The policy includes "best practise" environmental training for all staff.  There is a sustainability buildings policy which comes under the wider environmental policy.  The buildings policy favours builders and contractors who have provable records when it comes to how their operations work to minimise their impact on the environment.  As part of the reduction of the hotel buildings environmental impact is the purchasing and installation of water and energy efficient appliances.  Hard waste is sorted into 22 catagories which are recycled wherever possible.  All coffee served is "fair trade".  No GM food is served at the hotel, organic produce is served wherever possible.

The hotel restaurant serves an à la carte menu of Nordic dishes inrelaxed surroundings, as well as offering a tasty breakfast buffet.  (Breakfast is included within the cost of your stay).  The hotel bar has a comprehensive drinks list, and a big screen TV on which to watch  major sports events or you could pick up one of the books from one of the shelves.  Room service is on offer until 11pm Monday to Thursday and until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
