back to topThe construction of the lodge is in aesthetic harmony with its surroundings. The lodge uses local produce wherever possible. The lodge supports local environmental organisations. The lodge uses local guides, maintains a good relationship with surrounding community and is owned and run by Alaskans. Eco friendly cleaning agents used through out the lodge. The lodge uses energy efficient electrical appliances. Toilets are low water flush, and conserve water. Human waste treated is with a six chamber system approved by The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, which is discharged into a drain field, and is easily assimilated into the earth.

back to topAlaska’s Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge is located on the Kenai Peninsula, on the South side of Kachemak Bay, in Halibut Cove, and is adjacent to the Kachemak Bay State Park.
Travel to Homer:
Homer is located just 45 minutes by air or a half day drive from Anchorage. If you have the time, and the weather is cooperative, it is a beautiful drive. If you choose to fly, Homer is serviced by Alaska Airlines and Grant Aviation. You can make reservations with them through www.flyera.com or www.flygrant.com.
Travel to Halibut Cove:
Transportation to Halibut Cove is by water taxi or float plane only. The staff of lodge will make the travel arrangements for you, from Homer to Halibut Cove, at the time of your booking.
