The Scandic Jacob Gade hotel is in the heart of Vejle.

Since 1993 the Scandic hotel chain have been working to create sustainability policy which is the envy of many companies who have more recently turned their attention to their environmental impact.  This is especially true within the hospitality sector in which the chain operate.  

Through out the all the hotels within the chain, the same extensively detailed and rigorous sustainability policy is adhered to.  The elements within the hotel include simple elements which relate to consumable goods like food, no GM food is served by Scandic restaurants, all coffee is fair trade and where possible organic produce is served.  All cleaning products used within the hotel are "eco-friendly"

In relation to the materials used within the hotel, there is a separate sustainability buildings policy.  Which ensures no toxic chemicals or materials are used either in the construction or maintenance of the hotel.  Fittings which adhere to the building policy include room key controlled lighting, low energy light bulbs, low-flush toilets, efficient taps and shower heads.  

Every effort is made to keep Waste to a minimum, all waste is sorted into 22 categories and recycled where possible.

The hotel restaurant Noden serves cuisine focused on Scandinavian flavours.  The restaurant have excellent views over to the hills and the park of Vejle.  In the warmer months the terrace gives the opportunity to dine al fresco.  (The restaurant can seat 250 guests).  The hotel bar GadeCaféen serves a variety of drinks, has its own bar menu and also serves espresso.       Breakfast is included in the cost of your stay at the hotel.  

The hotel is a five minute taxi journey from Vejle railway station.
