Scandic Continental - Helsinki - Finland

The Scandic Continental hotel is close to the city centre of Helsinki.  

It's a perfect jumping off point, if you want to attend a concert or sports event at  the Helsinki Olympic Stadium which is just a short journey up the road. Or make the short journey to the Linnanmäki Amusement Park and Hietaniemi beach is just a 10-minute walk away.  

The hotel has plenty in terms of business facilities for the business guest and or business delegates attending meetings or conferences at the hotel.  In total there are 14 meeting or conference rooms which can accommodate up to 600 delegates during the day.  Each room is equipped with modern audio-visual equipment. 

For guests who want to stay active while at the hotel there's plenty to get your heart rate up.  The hotel has its own health club which includes a well-equipped gym, an indoor pool, separate male and female saunas.  

If you want to take in a bit of fresh air you can jog around Töölönlahti Bay across the road from the hotel.  Borrow Nordic walking poles and take a bracing walk or borrow a bicycle from reception.  

There is a private sauna on the top floor of the Scandic Continental hotel, which has panoramic views out over Helsinki.  You can celebrate with drinks or just relax in the hot tub as you look out at the city . There is also a private sauna and a relaxation room with a fireplace.

For guests with kids visiting the hotel there is plenty of fun to be had.  The hotel has playroom which is handily next door to the lobby.  The restaurant has high-chairs for small children and There are also kids TV channels, jigsaws"Film Time", drawing and reading.  Parents will be glad to know kids under 13 years old stay for free.  

The hotel has 90 car parking spaces on site, all of which carry a charge in addition to your stay.  (Please note the maximum vehicle height is 1.8m.)

The hotel provide free wireless internet access through out every part of the hotel.

The Scandic hotel chain places great store in their environmental policy.  The policy itself is company wide policy which was created in 1993 and has been grown and refined ever since.

Elements which make up the Scandic environmental policy are diverse and comprehensive and they include sourcing energy from renewable sources, conserving energy by using energy efficient appliances through out the hotel.  As as well as fitting low energy light bulbs, room key controlled lighting, which also form part of the sustainability buildings policy, within the wider environmental policy.  The hotel works to save waste through water efficient dishwaters and washing machines as well as low-flush toilets and efficient taps and showers.  No GM food is served at the hotel, all coffee is "fairtrade" or  another ethical equivalent.  Organic food is sourced and served wherever possible.

The Lastu restaurant at the Scandic Continental serves international cuisine, the food is á la carte menu, which is based around seasonal dishes.  The hotel has a wine bar which can ensure you relax at the end of your day with a  cocktail, a glass of wine or perhaps a beer.  Breakfast is included within the price of your stay at the hotel.
