By the harbour, the Scandic Grand Marina hotel offers a scenic and central Helsinki location.

You can Visit Helsinki attractions such as Kaivopuisto Park or Uspenski Cathedral.  Once back at the hotel you can enjoy the view which takes in most harbour.

The Scandic Grand Marina is a great base for guests looking for a hotel before leaving, or on arrival to Helsinki on one of the ferries which depart from close to the hotel.  It serves as ideal departure/arrival point if you are using the Helsinki to Talinn Ferry, the Helsinki to Stockholm Ferry and the Helsinki to St Petersburg Ferry.  

The hotel is ideal for business guests, in terms of size, location and facilities in is one of best venues in Helsinki.  Opposite the the hotel there is the Scandic Marina Congress Centre which 11 flexible meeting rooms for up to 2,500 delegates.  The hotel itself has 6 conference rooms, which includes the "Think Tank" room.  

The hotel loans out bicycles to guests (free of charge) so you can get out and explore Helsinki without bothering to take the car.  If you want to stay in trim while staying within the hotel there is a gym within the hotel and afterwards you can let your body relax in the sauna.  

Children stay for free in the hotel (under 13 years of age).  At the hotel there is plenty for guests with children, the playroom is conveniently situated beside the restaurant so that you can keep an eye on them while dining.  There is also a "play host" who is on hand to ensure they are kept busy,  Activities on offer include "Film Time", drawing, puzzles, computer games, reading, and kids TV channels.  The restaurant provides high chairs for small children as well as a kids menu.  

There are 8 specifically modified rooms for disabled guests.  These rooms have widened doors, fixtures and fittings which are all comfortably reachable from wheel chair height.  The ensuite bathrooms within each of these guest rooms have also been modified for wheel chair users.  The entrance has automatic doors, lift buttons are reachable from wheel chair height.  Hearing Loops are available at reception

The Scandic hotel chain is constantly trying to improve its enviornmental record.  It has been monitoring and working to drive down its environmental impact since 1993.  It is currently working towards having a zero carbon emissions by 2015.

The Scandic environmental policy is in place across all of the chain and so includes the Scandic Grand Marina.  The hotel ensures that no GM food is served with the hotel, all coffee is "Fairtrade" or another ethical equivalent.  Organic food is sourced wherever possible.  Energy and water conservation is achieved through energy efficient and water efficient appliances as well as fittings low energy light bulbs, room key controlled lighting, efficient taps and showers and low-flush toilets.

Reindeer sirloin steak and Arctic char are the highlights on the menu at the Makasiini Restaurant within the hotel as well as other Scandinavian dishes.  There are two bars within the hotel, there is the spacious hotel bar conveniently close to the hotel lobby, serving bar snacks as well as cakes and sweets, and there is also the "pub" and which has a maritime decor, offers local beers and bar snacks and has pleasant harbour views.  Room Service is available, you can order from the à la carte menu of the restaurant or you can order drinks and snacks from the Makasiini bar.Breakfast is included within the rate of your room.
