The Scandic Jyvaskyla has a very is central Jyvaskyla location close to the rail and bus station.

Jyvaskyla attractions, such as Jyvaskyla Harbour or the Craft Museum of Central Finland, are 10 minutes’ walk away.  

The hotel is an ideal business hotel as it has 4 flexible conference and meeting rooms, which can accommodate up to 96 delegates.  

You can exercise whenever you feel like it at the hotel as the there is a 24 hour gym which is equipped with 2 treadmills, multi-gym, free weights, yoga mats and Swiss balls.  The hotel as have a pool if you fancy putting in a few lengths.  Outside the hotel you can borrow walking poles or a bike and take to exploring the area, both are supplied free of charge.  And once your done keeping in shape, you can relax in the sauna.  

The hotel has a playroom for kids, which offers lots of activities, kids can draw, do jigsaws, read, watch films at "Film Time", and play computer games.  The hotel also has kids TV channels.  The restaurant has high chairs and a special kids menu.  All kids stay at the hotel for free (under 13 years of age).

There 2 rooms for the disabled, the rooms have been modified for the convenience of wheel chair users.  The en-suite bathrooms in each of the rooms have also been modified accordingly.  There are 2 parking spaces for handicapped drivers.  Guests who require them can use a hearing loop at reception and there are mobile hearing loops for business guests attending meetings within the hotel.  Guide dogs are welcome at the hotel.  

The hotel is well served in terms of parking there are 80 free parking parking spaces and an additional 26 indoor parking spaces (charged in addition to the cost of your stay).  

There is free wireless internet available through out the hotel.

The Scandic hotel chain has been working on driving down the environmental impact that it hotels right across the operation of all of its hotels including Scandic Jyvaskyla.  

Every part of the hotels operation is managed in relation in the Scandic environment policy.  The hotel has food policy which includes all coffee served is either "fairtrade" or another ethical equivalent, no GM food is served at the hotel, and organic food is served wherever possible.  The energy is sourced from renewable sources, energy is conserved using low energy light bulbs, room key controlled lighting and energy efficient appliances.  Water is conserved using water efficient appliances and fittings which include efficient taps and showers, low-flush toilets.  Waste in tightly controlled with all waste sorted into 22 categories and recycled where possible.

The hotels "Restaurant Colonial" serves true Italian cuisine, which includes delicious antipasti, pasta dishes, risottos or large steaks.  As well as tasty Italian deserts.  Room service is also available, you can order from the a la carte menu of the restaurant.  (Room service is available during the hours at the restaurant is open.)Private dining is available for private functions and business events.  The restaurant needs to be booked 3 days prior to the event.  Set menus are available or you can chose to order from the a la carte menu.  Breakfast is free of charge, as it is included within the price of your stay.
