The Scandic Sjolyst hotel is located in Skøyen, a relaxed and chilled out area of Oslo.
A little distance on from the immediate surroundings of the hotel is the Bygdoy Penisula that has a calm rustic feel to it despite being minutes away (by boat) from central Oslo. The peninsula gives you a great opportunity to gain a wider understanding of Norway's history at the Museum of Cultural History and also Norway's maritime history with the Norwegian Maritime Museum, the Fram Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and the Viking Ship Museum all in conveniently located in close proximity to one another. The peninsula also has a number of has a number of beaches and marinas for you to explore.
A short walk from the hotel you'll find shops, cafes and restaurants, and a little further on from these local distractions is Frogner Park also known as Vigeland Park which offers you plenty of space to relax in. If you're staying at the hotel in summer the park makes an ideal picnic spot. Aside from its natural beauty the park is home to the hundreds of sculptures by Gustav Vigeland.

Take the Flytoget express train from Gardermoen to Skøyen. From Skøyen station exit via the main entrance. Cross the street at the traffic lights, and walk straight ahead through the park. You'll see the Scandic Sjølyst hotel on your right hand side after 150 metres.
By taxi
Get a cab from outside the terminal building at Gardermoen Airport. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
