The location of the hotel is ideal for business meetings and conferences, as the hotel easily reached by all roads in, out of and around Gavle.  The facilities within the hotel include 10 meeting and conference rooms, which at full capacity can accommodate 220 delegates.  Five of these rooms is boardroom suites designed for meetings of ten people.  All rooms are equipped with AV equipment.  

The hotel has its own fitness room with a range of fitness equipment, outside if you fancy something a little more team focused there is a football area suitable for a "kick-about", or if you fancy something a little more relaxed, there is the boules pitch.  The hotel also has its own pool as well as a sauna in which you can steam out any lingering stress.  

For children visiting the hotel there is plenty to keep them busy.  A welcome gift on their arrival at the hotel, including mobile play modules, jigsaws, computer games, books to read, children's TV channels and drawing.  For parents there is the compfort that the restaurant has high chairs as well as a "kids menu".  The other major bonus is that children under 13 stay at the hotel for free.  

Disabled guests are well served at the hotel.  At reception there are hearing loops, for guests taking business meetings at the hotel there are mobile hearing loops.  The hotel has specially modified rooms which includes widened-doorways.  The rooms have been designed for the disabled and so make a stay at the hotel as stress free as possible, the rooms also have their own modified bathrooms which are configured to the correct heights for wheelchair users as well as having no varying thresholds between rooms.  

Parking at the hotel is free, there are 100 parking spaces for guests, the car park is partially covered all parking spaces have engine heaters.  

There is free wireless internet in every part of the hotel.

Unsurprisingly for a Swedish company the Scandic hotel chain takes its impact on the environment very seriously.  In 1993 the company first started to evaluate its impact on the environment.  Since that time the Scandic have worked to reduce their environmental impact.  The company is committed to being completely carbon neutral by 2025.  

The Scandic environmental policy is comprehensive and in place through out the chain.  Scandic Gavle Vest adheres all elements of the policy, which include:  The management of waste, so that it is sorted into 22 categories and recycled wherever possible.  The use of non-toxic materials in any construction or maintenance of the hotel, preference given to building materials and building contractors who can demonstrate a comprehensive commitment to the environment.  "Eco-friendly" cleaning products are used through out the hotel.  Energy and water is conserved through the use of energy and water conservation appliances which include; low energy light bulbs, room key controlled lighting, efficient taps and showers and low-flush toilets.
