The Scandic Opalen hotel is perhaps the perfect choice for business guests visiting Gothenburg.  It's positioning close to key business and corporate entertainment venues combined to its own business facilities make ideal.  The hotel has 18 conference/meeting rooms which are light, airy and spacious, the business and conference facilities can accommodate up to 230 business delegates.  

There's plenty for kids to do at that hotel itself:  There's "Film Time", kids can play computer games, do some drawing, quietly do some reading or do a jigsaw.  The restaurant has a "Kids Menu" as well as high chairs for young children and babies.  Children under 13 stay free of charge at the hotel.  Outside the hotel and not very far away is the Universeum which is a museum dedicated to making science and technology fun and engaging for kids, so if you are looking for an excursion that the kids will really enjoy its a stroll from the hotel.  There's also the Liseberg Amusment Park a couple of blocks away.

The hotel has its own fitness room, which includes fitness balls, an exercise bike, a treadmill and a cross-trainer.  Once you've finished training you can relax in the jacuzzi or the sauna.

The Scandic Hotel chain is committed to ensuring that all hotels conform to its highly detailed and comprehensive environmental policy.  In terms of food and beverages the Scandic Opalen Hotel ensure that no GM food or drink products are served at the hotel, organic food is served wherever possible and coffee is fairtrade.  Energy is sourced from renewable sources rather than non-renewable sources.  Energy is conserved through the use of energy efficient appliances, as well as energy efficient fittings including low energy light bulbs, room key controlled lighting.  Water and the energy used to process and treat water is conserved through the use of water efficient appliances, efficient taps and showers and low-flush toilets.  Other forms of waste is managed by waste being sorted into 22 categories and recycled wherever possible.
